Clever Distractions is a place to help you...and maybe help us...come up with activities to keep your kids entertained and stimulated. I, the author, am the full time working mother of a 21 month old little boy. Our neighbor, who is a retired teacher, kept "Little Man" the 10 months of his life until I decided maybe it was time for daycare. A more structured, educational environment. One week later, I took him back out of daycare. I hated it. He was exhausted, cranky and frankly, the teacher made me uneasy. My husband and I thought about taking him elsewhere, but eventually settled on finding a nanny. It was a better fit for our family and for my personality.
We interviewed a few until we found "Super Nanny" who also had a son just a few months younger than Little Man. We asked Super Nanny to come back with her little one, "Sweet Cheeks" (seriously, the sweetest little boy ever with the biggest, cutest, pinchable cheeks), to meet Little Man. They hit it off and Super Nanny started a week later.
Super Nanny is a certified teacher and we immediately began making lesson plans and brainstorming ideas to keep the boys learning and stimulated. Super Nanny keeps a structured schedule every day and has a structured activity for them to do everyday.
